| In selected schools, MECO, HECO and HELCO install, operate and maintain solar electric systems using photovoltaic technology and help the DOE develop teaching materials on renewable energy of all kinds. Since the start of the program in 1997, photovoltaic systems have been installed on ten schools in Maui County. |
