Maui Electric night work on Dec. 6 requires road closure at Alamaha St. and Wakea Ave.

KAHULUI, Dec. 5, 2018 – As part of ongoing efforts to continue meeting the energy needs of the area, Maui Electric will be doing upgrades to electrical equipment that will require a road closure at Alamaha Street and Wakea Avenue, including the right and left turn lanes from Alamaha onto Wakea, on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. The work consists of upgrading a utility pole along Wakea Ave. and restringing power lines in the area..
For safety reasons, the Alamaha Street lanes onto Wakea Avenue must be closed to traffic while crews safely work as quickly as possible to complete the upgrades. Traffic control will be on site and should an emergency arise, emergency vehicles will continue to have access to the area. Electrical service in this immediate area is NOT expected be impacted.
