Nori Chips

Ingredients:

Nori Chips:

  • 2 sheets nori, cut each sheet into 6 rectangle pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Directions:

Cut each sheet of nori into 6 rectangles; set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, egg and water; set aside. Heat oil to 350°F. Dip one side of each nori rectangle into the batter and deep fry until nori gets crispy on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes. (Note: Once you place the nori into the oil, wait until the nori comes up to the surface, using wooden chopsticks to fix the nori if the nori becomes folded.) Drain on paper towels.
