How to Pay Your Bill

Pay Bills Using Automatic Bill Payment

With Automatic Bill Payment, your bank, savings and loan, or credit union will pay your electric bill automatically each month by deducting it from any account you choose. This service is free. To sign-up, simply log in to your Online Customer Account to enroll or download and complete the Automatic Bill Payment Form.

By signing up, you'll help us reduce our carbon footprint and be eligible to receive a Project Footprint reward*: a stainless steel water bottle or a t-shirt made from 100% recycled materials. To receive your gift, provide your email address when signing up for automatic bill payment and within two weeks you’ll receive an email from us to select your reward.

* Project Footprint rewards are available only while supplies last. Hawaiian Electric may end the program or issuance of rewards at any time. Rewards will only be sent to addresses within our service territories and are limited to one (1) per address for each eligible action. Individuals must be 18 or older and must provide a valid email address. Rewards may not be available for individuals who have previously asked not to be contacted by Hawaiian Electric or who have unsubscribed from or opted out of our marketing emails. If you do not receive an email confirming your reward eligibility within two (2) weeks, please email us at footprint@hawaiianelectric.com.


Pay Bills Using MyCheckFree

To offer convenient, online bill payment, Maui Electric has partnered with MyCheckFree. By using MyCheckFree, you can pay your bill online, eliminate paper bills by receiving your bill electronically, and receive notification emails when a new bill is available. It's free! Please allow 3-5 business days for payment to be posted to your account.

Pay Bills Using Charge, Checking or Savings Debit Card, or Electronic Check

Maui Electric partners with Speedpay® to provide an easy way to pay your electric bill using your checking, savings, or money market account, your MasterCard, Visa, Discover, AMEX, or your ATM or Debit Card with a STAR, PULSE, or NYCE logo. No sign-up is necessary.

Effective Dec. 3, 2018, Speedpay®'s website has been updated with a new look and feel.

There are two ways you can pay:

SPEEDPAY®

Provide your 12-digit Maui Electric account number, your billing address zip code, and your credit, debit, or checking information.

  • Or, you may pay your electric bill by calling 1-888-813-2207.

A $1.99 Speedpay® convenience fee and a minimum $5.00 payment will apply, with a maximum payment amount of $1,000 for residential customers. A $30.00 Speedpay® convenience fee, $5.00 minimum, and $5,000 maximum payment amount will apply for commercial customers. Please allow 1-2 business days for your account to be credited.

Please note: Maui Electric does not receive any portion of the fee charged for this service. It is the convenience fee Speedpay® charges to cover processing fees and transaction costs associated with handling credit and debit card information.
